The Giver of Gifts

Being aware of God's grace and the good gifts He gives us each day— each hour and every moment—can be a deep source of joy. Sometimes it can be a challenge to accept and enjoy His goodness without fretting about whether or not life should be different than it is.
Charles Spurgeon wisely said, "Remember this, had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, divine love would have put you there."
Ultimately, it is a matter of focus. The enemy wants our attention fixed on ourselves and on everything that is wrong as we face trials, struggle with sin, and battle discouragement. It is right to acknowledge these realities but there is strength in fixing our eyes on who He is—our good, kind, gracious, and generous heavenly Father. As we do, our eyes are opened to His gifts and we are free to delight in them.
Delighting in a gift is one of the sweetest ways to say thank you. It honors the giver and brings joy to their heart. May we all keep our focus on the Giver of good gifts.
