Creativity

Creativity

Years ago, I came across an Advent prayer list with a one-sentence prayer for each day in December. One of the prayers asked God to grant creativity. It really stood out to me. I had never considered myself to be a creative person. I had never thought to ask God for creativity before.

Of course, God is our Creator and we know His very Word brought forth light, beauty, diversity and life. Made in His image we have been designed to be creative to our very core.

As we head into the darker months, prepare for the holidays, and have more time at home, consider asking God how He might grant you creativity – in the things you say, the plans you make, the prayers you pray, the lessons you write, the dreams you dream.

I have come to love praying for creativity. I get excited about what ideas God will bring my way. Creativity isn't just for artists. It's one more way we can reflect our Creator and bring beauty, thoughtfulness, and life into the world around us.
